We have been the Vancouver Stake Relief Society Presidency since April 2021. It's a joy getting to know and serve the sisters throughout our spectacular stake. You come from many, many countries around the world and are blessing those in your lives in a wide variety of circumstances. We see your love for the Lord and you inspire us.
Kim Aippersbach: Born and raised in the church in Edmonton, Alberta, I have spent most of my life serving in Primary and Music callings. I've been married for 36 years to my high school sweetheart and we have three grown children. I play the piano and sing in choirs, edit children's and YA novels, and backpack with my five siblings every summer. I'm thrilled to be serving in the Relief Society during President Nelson's tenure as Prophet.
Jacqui Soll: I was converted to the church 40 years ago in my birth country of South Africa. Twenty-four years ago, I arrived in Canada with my husband and children, ready to start over in beautiful British Columbia. I work as a Pediatric Occupational Therapist with school-aged children and their families. The church brings great joy and growth into my life, and I love the church's direction of home-centred, church supported spiritual progress.
Rana Shaskin: Lethbridge, Alberta, is my home, but I've lived in Vancouver since the 1990s. I recently retired after a long and happy career as a Librarian at the Richmond Public Library. I came into the church as a young adult at BYU (Provo) where I studied Theatre and English. Soon after graduation, I served as a missionary in the Utah Salt Lake South Mission where I learned the deep joy that comes from sharing the Lord’s love through serving others.
Ann Saquian: I joined the church 22 years ago in Hong Kong and I'm the first convert in my family. I served a full-time mission in Philippines Quezon City Mission. I find my greatest joy in the gospel knowing that we have a loving Father in Heaven and the Saviour Jesus Christ. My favourite scripture is Doctrine & Covenants 136:29, “If thou art sorrowful, call on the Lord thy God with supplication, that your souls maybe joyful."
We declare February as the Bowl Of Joy Month for the sisters in the Vancouver Stake. Sisters are invited to share bowls of soup, fruit, flowers, cookies, spiritual thoughts, etc., with those they minister to.
